Around a lot of signs of spring, although in many places still lies snow, and the surface of the water is covered with ice. However, a few warm days - preferably rainy ones - are enough for amphibian to wake up from hibernation and embark on their eternal spring hike to the water reservoirs where mating will take place.
Since we are monitoring the use of hibernation sites made as part of the project, we must not allow amphibian to move away from them uncounted. So we have already started setting up special fences, thanks to which amphibian will have to stay within the hibernation sites – until they are counted and released.
We will carry out inspections at least once a day.
