Toad-bellied toad occurred here several dozen years ago, it became extinct due to the loss of suitable habitats, which was caused by too intensive farming. Now the situation has changed - farmers are more environmentally friendly, and our partners - as part of the project - recreate water reservoirs and build hibernacula.
To introduce the toad to Skaro, eggs are collected in places where the toad occurs and is not threatened. Then the eggs go to the breeding station, where tadpoles appear, and then juveniles. 10% of them return to the place where the eggs were obtained. The remaining 90% - on Skaro.
Cooperation with farmers - landowners is very important here. They are directly involved in project activities - among other things, they release the toads into the wild.
