Zhuvintas Biosphere Reserve – we are building a network of LIFE projects.
The project mainly involved the reclamation of current and potential aquatic warbler habitats - small water retention, bush removal and mowing, as well as strengthening the Lithuanian population by resettling the Aquatic warbler here from Belarus. An important element of the project is the creation of a plant processing biomass obtained during the removal of bushes and mowing.
With our Lithuanian colleagues, we discussed the assumptions and the status of implementation of both our LIFE projects, the technical solutions used, project management systems, cooperation prospects. Of course, there were also field visits. We are now waiting for the visit of our Lithuanian colleagues in the Romincka Forest.
