A very important activity of our project is restoring of small water reservoirs as breeding and living places for amphibians, mainly the fire-bellied toad. Ponds successively silt, overgrow, and finally disappear completely. We are trying to counteract it! We will restore 50 reservoirs with an area of 350 to 500 m2 in Romincka Forest Landscape Park. Our Danish partners will restore 12 ponds on the Island of Scaro. In order to harm the environment as little as possible, we demanded that the contractor use only the most modern excavators that meet the strict ecological standard STAGE IV.
