As part of building a network of LIFE project partners, our team went on a two-day visit to Lithuania - to the Nemuno Kilpos Regional Park, which - as one of the partners - is currently implementing the project "Adjustment of key stakeholders’ capacity for improvement of Common and Little terns conservation status in Lithuania " LIFE17 NAT/LT/000545.
The project is very interesting - it includes many educational activities, active protection, monitoring, creating plans of protective tasks for Natura 2000 areas. We were particularly interested in creating new islands that are potential breeding colonies of terns.
The visit gave us the opportunity to exchange practical experiences - regarding the activities implemented in both projects, as well as more formal ones – auditing and reporting on LIFE projects.
We also talked about potential future collaborations.
