Works related to the installation of a permanent fence around the most valuable European pond turtle breeding site in north-eastern Poland have been completed. The permanent fence complements the electric shepherd installed in the center of the breeding site.
The fencing is designed to protect the turtle eggs found in the past on the outskirts of the area and also to prevent large game - such as wild boar - from penetrating the entire area. The barbed wire, several dozen years old, located close to the ground, was also removed. It limited the access of female European pond turtle to the breeding site.
