On the first day of the conference - September 27 - the following presentations were given:
"Project "Active protection of endangered species of amphibians and reptiles in Natura 2000 areas in Europe" (LIFE17 NAT/PL/000011) - assumptions, implementation" (Jaromir Krajewski, director of the Romincka Forest Landscape Park)
“Active protection of the fire-bellied toad in Denmark” (AMPHI International)
"Active protection of amphibians and reptiles" (Dr. Anna Krzysztofiak, "Man and Nature" Association)
"Results of amphibian monitoring (ponds, hibernacula)" (Ewa Jędrzejewska-Domalewska, ECOEXPERT)
"Monitoring of the European pond turtle" (Grzegorz Górecki, head of the Masurian Center for Biodiversity and Education "Kumak")
"Further perspectives for the protection of herpetofauna"; "Amphibians and reptiles in the light of the Alien Species Act" (Dr. Lech Krzysztofiak, President of the Management Board of the "Man and Nature" Association)
Traditionally, we spent the second day of the conference in the field. Participants saw the secured breeding grounds and the infrastructure dedicated to pond turtles created as part of the project - primarily the crossings under national road No. 16.
During monitoring conducted over the last three years, we have documented that turtles actually use them.
